Little Sweet Play Centre Joondalup
"The Perfect Indoor Play Centre for children aged 0-5 years"
Normally a visit to an indoor playcentre with my 3 and 5 year old leaves me utterly exhausted and ready for a nice cuppa when we get home. One child goes one way, while the other is stuck at the top of a HUGE climbing frame, yelling for me to help them down. The Little Sweet Play Centre in Joondalup was a nice change. My sister and I enjoyed a lovely coffee at the cafe while we watched the kids (2,3,4 and 5) play and of course asssited the little ones when needed.
Little Sweet Play Centre is set up for children 0-5 years old. We decided to try a centre that catered more for the younger kids rather than a big multi age centre from previous experience. I knew the youngest 3 would enjoy it, however I was a little unsure as to weather Miss 5 (almost 6) would be bored, but was I wrong. She had just as much fun as the younger kids. She did not stop for the full 2 hours apart from a quick bite to eat. I did chat to her prior to arrival about being mindful of any small children as it is primarily for children aged 0-5 years and she was on the older side.
My 4 year old niece is very sensitive and finds big indoor play centres very intimidating and spends most of the visit clinging to her Mum. She was at ease as soon as she arrived and had a great time.
We were welcomed by Pauline the owner and found a table nearby the play area. The play centre was super clean and all neat and tidy. It was a nice size, not too big, however still plenty of room for the kids to explore and there was plenty of equipment to keep them occupied. The equipment is rotated regularly to keep things fresh and interesting for the kids.
The Indoor Play Centre is a safe, secure play centre where babies and kids can have hours of fun climbing, sliding, jumping, exploring and playing...and best of all it is indoors, so no worries on rainy or super hot days!
There is a child proof gate at the entrance of the centre as well as blocking an internal staircase that leads up to their store room/office area. This is a must have feature to stop the littlies shooting out into the car park.
The equipment included a jumping castle, huge ball bit, lots of ride on cars, foam shapes to build and climb over, crawling tunnels, balancing snake, walkers, slides, rocking toys, seesaws and the favourite by far were the 2 roller coasters!
If you have non mobile babies or crawlers the floor area and equipment was very clean and suitable for young ones to crawl around.
There is a small cafe onsite with 6 or so tables and a small selection of treats to choose from a limited menu including; Hot drinks, soft drinks, water, juice, bannana cake, jelly cups and muffins for the kids. Unlike other play centres we were able to take out own food in. The kids enjoyed the snacks that we had packed and we bought them a jelly cup as a special treat.
There are toilets and also a baby change room available at the centre. There were also plenty of high chairs and a microwave so that parents and carers can heat up bottles if they needed to.
The centre is family operated and you can see that having children of their own they clearly "get" what parents of under 5's need. They also offer a Loyalty Card for customers, with your 6th visit being free and a coffee card with your 10th coffee being free.
There is limited parking straight outside the venue, however on busy days you can also park on Winton Rd with a short walk to the centre.
A lady came in with some flowers while we were there to thank the staff for making her son's party so amazing over the weekend. After chatting with her she mentioned that they also offer a range of party packages including; Mobile Soft Play and Toy Hire or all inclusive parties at their Joondalup Venue. What a perfect idea for a Birthday Party or end of year catch up! Prices start at $160 for 8 children and includes; Free adult admission, invitations, 2 hours of play time, party food and drink for the kids and a free return visit for the Birthday Child! They seem really happy to accommodate with special requests.
A few regular customers arrived at the centre as we were leaving. Many of them were greeted by name by Pauline and the kids played happily with her while their Mum's set up at the cafe.
Will we be back? Yes we will certainly be adding this to our regular catch up cafes!
We will definately be back for regular visits at the Little Sweet Play Centre. The thing that I loved the most about the play centre was it's size and the fact that it was SUPER clean. The size allowed the adults to relax and enjoy a coffee while the kids played without the worry of them running off in all different directions.
